The reactor vessel is constructed entirely of SS310 fire-resistant stainless steel. The reactor head, which holds all necessary instrumentation, is placed on top of the reactor outside the furnace’s heated zone. A cooling compartment ensures that the head maintains a low enough temperature to protect gaskets and allow for safe handling.
The reactor head is installed on a vertical motion stage, with a mechanism that counterbalances the reactor head’s weight, allowing it to be held at any elevated position.
