Description
Alumina (Al2O3) which we use for manufacturing our alumina lid crucibles is one of the most important ceramic oxides and is widely used for structural, electronics, medical and electrical fields. It has wide application as engineering technical ceramic due to its high hardness value, high abrasion (wear) resistance and low cost. It has high melting point (2054 °C), and boiling point (2977 °C) low thermal expansion and high compressive strength which provides good thermal shock resistance. Alumina is also one of the best electrical insulations at high temperatures making it excellent choice as a thermodielectric refractory and it is transparent to microwave radio frequencies. It’s fairly high chemical stability, make Alumina a good material to withstand chemical corrosion.
Our company, Thermansys, is producing a broad range of analytical grade, recrystallized, dense Alumina crucibles in various sizes and forms. Among those, there are also alumina dish crucibles in a variety of volumes.
Applications in which alumina crucibles are used are among others:
- Analytical applications,
- metals melting,
- ceramic powders heat treatment,
- material acid treatment even at elevated temperature,
- crucibles for annealing,
- crucibles for fusion processes,
- crucibles for crystal growing,
- crucibles for extremely corrosive environments like plasma etching.
